Band News – May 28

Final Project and catching up on assignments in Google Classroom:  

Final Projects are due June 3 (grades 9-11) except for All-State Auditions (option 1). Please continue checking Classroom to make up Self-Evaluations, Play Tests/Auditions, Practice Journals, reference recordings, and more. Thank you for your exceptional responsibility in helping us finish the year at our best.

All-State Audition audio recordings are due by June 7. Signup for your recording session with Mr. D immediately or make a plan with your private teacher. Let’s all do this!

Band Uniform Returns OVERDUE – TURN IN NOW 
Please bring all uniform parts and garment bag to school with you for official check-in and cleaning. Remember, everything must be turned in or you will be charged fees for missing items. Thank you for taking great care of our brand new uniforms.

School Instrument Return or Rental Due Tuesday, June 4

  • School Instruments for Summer
    • Summer Rental:  If you plan to keep your school instrument for the summer (DUH! That would be awesome), the rental cost for the summer is $30. You can also add $75 to cover the next school year (2024-2025) for $105 total.  Please make checks payable to “Hellgate Bands,” with this rental form. AND please make arrangements with Music Medics for a tuneup+cleaning before we return in August.
    • Instrument Return:  Please make sure your case and mouthpiece are cleaned.  If you caused any damage to your instrument due to neglect (dropping, adding dents, bent rods, etc), you must have it repaired prior to turning it in with your own funds (schedule an appointment with Music Medics or Morgenroth).  If an instrument has very minor wear and tear, the school will pay to get the instrument repaired/cleaned over the summer.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Now: Return band uniform and garment bag immediately
  • Tuesday, May 28:  Jazz Band Transcription project due (present your project in class throughout the week.
  • May 29: Concert Self-Evaluation (Google Classroom) due Wednesday, May 29
  • Final Project
    • Seniors – Due before May 29
    • Grades 9-11 – Due before June 3
  • Saturday, June 1: Graduation Ceremony: Band will not play at graduation this year
  • Tuesday, June 4: instrument rental and returns due (details and rental form below)
  • By June 7:  All-State Audition audio recordings are due. Signup for your recording session immediately or make a plan with your private teacher.
  • Summer Camps!
  • August 6-11, 2024: Make money with the Hellgate Bands slinging cotton candy at the Western MT Fair. Online Signup for shifts will be available SOON! Don’t miss it.
