FAQS
Q: Who is supposed to buy a ticket? Is this event for parents? Students?
A: This event is for everyone! Band students, parents, family members, neighbors, community members…
Q: Does my band student need to sell tickets before they can pick them up from Mr. Dochnal?
A: No. They can check tickets out from Mr. Dochnahl and they’ll need to return either the tickets or payment.
Q: But isn’t this just for the jazz bands?
A: No! This is a fundraiser for the band program as a whole and all band students. The Jazz Bands will be performing live music at the event.
Q: But I don’t know how to swing dance.
A: There will be free dance lessons 6:30-7:00pm!
Q: I’d love to go but my partner/husband doesn’t dance.
A: There will be lots of people there to dance with if you want to dance!
Q: Will there be food or drinks at the event?
A: There will be non-alcoholic drinks but there will not be any food at the event.
Q: I’ll be out of town. I wish I could still participate.
A: You can! We have many great auction items up online that you can start bidding on now. See the button to the left!
Q: Which student are you supporting with your ticket?
A: 100% of the proceeds from each pre-sold ticket goes directly to a band student’s account to offset travel costs on amazing trips like New Orleans next year. Just let us know which band student you are supporting with your ticket purchase.
Q: Venmo is asking me for the last 4 digits of the Hellgate Band Parents phone number. What do I do?
A: You can either skip this step or you can enter 3405 to verify that you have the correct account.
Q: Are donations tax deductible?
A:Yes! Our tax id is 81-0440087
Q: How can I pay for tickets and items at the auction event on May 8?
A: We’ll be accepting cash, check (made out to Hellgate Bands), and Venmo payments.
Live Event: Join Us May 8!
Join us on May 8 for an evening of music, dancing and an auction to support ALL of our band programs!
- Tickets are $10 each and go on sale April 8.
- Three ways to buy tickets:
- HHS Band students will be selling tickets directly
- Buy tickets at the door on May 8
- Buy tickets online via Venmo (@hellgatebandparents)
- Payment can be made via cash, check, or Venmo to Hellgate Band Parents.
- If using Venmo, please indicate the band student you are supporting in the memo as well as if that student is delivering the ticket to you or you would like us to hold your ticket at Will Call at the event on May 8.
- Proceeds from tickets purchased at the door on May 8 will go to the general band program fund
