Band News – April 29!
Congratulations on an immensely successful District Music Festival and concert last week! Congrats to every large ensemble for earning Division 1 Superior ratings from our judges and upholding a longstanding Hellgate tradition. And a big round of applause to each and every soloist and small ensemble for dedicating the effort and artistry to successfully perform at District Festival. We had 62 events participate in the festival, with over half earning superior ratings. That’s something the Hellgate community can be very proud of, and a very high bar for us to surpass each year going forward.
Let’s look ahead at the exciting final events for the spring season. Thank you for continuing your enthusiasm, curiosity, and high standards. -Mr. Dochnahl

- May 1, 7:00 PM at SHS: Airmen of Note Air Force Jazz Band, REGISTER TO ATTEND NOW and don’t you dare miss it!
- May 3 or 4: State Music Festival at Helena High School (good luck to our 23 participants)
- May 8, 6:00 PM, Swing for a Knight Fundraiser Dance Concert at Missoula Fairgrounds Home Arts Building
- Students, check out tickets from Mr. Dochnahl asap, $10 per ticket, 100% profit. Sell sell sell!

- May 15, 7:00 PM, Hellgate Pops Concert at the main gym (featuring Wind Ensemble and Jazz 1)
- May 17, Noami Siegel’s touring band workshops at Hellgate during class
- May 22, Band Awards Banquet and Potluck Dinner
- Potluck Signup – Please sign up to help
- Arrive 5:45 PM, lower gym, for ALL band families
- May 23, Final Band Concert! Students arrive 6:30 PM, concert starts 7:00 PM, for all band students, auditorium
- Concert Attire: Red band shirt, nice dress pants/khakis
- May 24 – Deadline to return your entire band uniform with garment bag
- Jazz Band show at The Big Dipper – TBA
